Trade and Commerce in Buray

This is a triangular-formed park at the center of the barangay. Buray is a town that almost never sleeps. I will research more about how and when this park was created. For the meantime, I will share the new and the old business establishments in Buray.

You’d know when you’re in Buray because the town is buzzing with people from all over the Samar Province. It being the center point of crossing roads between Borongan, Catbalogan and Tacloban, gave a lot of decent livelihood for the townspeople. Most common livelihood is being a “Parag sudoy”. They are street vendors that pedal locally-made delicacies like Coated Pili, Piñato Mani and the likes to buses, vans or private vehicles that stops over the town crossing.

This is how they carry and package the delicacies. Most of it are made by Buraynons themselves. It is a great source of snack while traveling.

There are plenty of “carenderias” or eatery houses that you can see along the main highway to cater to passengers from buses that stop over this area for lunch or dinner. I will try to take a clearer picture when there are not too many people around. The photo was taken around 8:00 am and you can really notice the hustle and bustle of the town. It's rush hour everyone!
